Houston since 1986 · Midtown shop
Forty years on the same block on Travis Street. Bring your computer in or have a technician come to you — PC, Mac, laptop, network or server.
What are you looking for?
Tell us what the computer is doing. We will point you to the right service — and tell you honestly if the answer is a $30 part rather than a $300 repair.
Services
Six core services, priced and explained before anything gets opened up.
Pop-ups, browser redirects, unwanted software and accounts that may already be compromised.
Failed drives, accidental deletion, corruption and storage that has gone inaccessible.
Screens, hinges, keyboards, charging ports, liquid damage and motherboards. PC and Mac.
Wireless coverage, printers, connectivity and firewall support for home and office.
Workstations, servers, Microsoft 365, backups and a help desk your staff can actually reach.
A clean operating system when repair no longer makes sense — or a performance pass when it does.
Virus & malware removal — published pricing
Mention the Internet Special at check-in. Prices cover the services listed. Parts, licenses and taxes are separate, and we confirm scope before we start.

Before a reinstall: reloading Windows can remove files, programs and settings. Tell us what must be saved before work begins. Backup is additional for Nuclear and Good; the insurance backup in Better and Best covers the files agreed in advance, subject to drive readability.
Also worth knowing: not every slow computer has a virus. Our free limited diagnostic exists to find out which one it is before anyone spends money. Data recovery is quoted separately.
About us
The Computer Hospital started in 1986 with Phyllis Oeser, then a paralegal and part-time IT support for a law firm, and James MacInnis, the firm's IT contractor. The idea was simple enough to still work: it breaks, we fix it.
Four decades later the founding premise has not changed. We diagnose before we quote, we explain before we open a case, and we tell you when the answer is replace rather than repair.
Why choose us
A free limited evaluation before anyone asks for money. Not every slow machine has a virus.
Many common repairs go out the same day or the next, depending on the problem and the parts.
Repair labor is covered for 90 days. Parts carry the applicable manufacturer warranty.
If a drive is failing, protecting your files comes before any repair or speed-up attempt.
How it works
This is the same process whether you walk in off Travis Street or we pick the machine up.
Walk in during business hours, or send a service request with photos if you would rather not drive across town first.
We look at the reported problem and tell you what we think is happening. Nothing deeper starts without your approval.
You get the price before the work. If the answer is replace rather than repair, we will say that too.
Work is covered by a 90-day labor warranty. We tell you what to watch for and what to change so it does not come back.
