Screen replacement
Cracked, dim, or showing lines. We fit the panel and test the display, keyboard and webcam before handover.
Home/Computer repair
Houston since 1986
With a name like The Computer Hospital, what else would we do? Desktops, laptops, PCs and Macs — diagnosed at the bench, quoted before we touch anything.
Diagnostics first
Whether it is slow, will not start, shows errors, or looks like hardware failure — we identify the cause and explain your repair or replacement options before work begins.
We find the problem. Free limited diagnostic on the reported issue.
Quality workmanship by technicians who have been doing this since 1986.
If software is the culprit, we clear it properly — not just delete the pop-up.
If storage is failing, we get your files back before anything else happens.
Repair pricing
Labor only unless stated. Parts, licenses and taxes are separate — and we tell you the part cost before ordering it.
Cracked, dim, or showing lines. We fit the panel and test the display, keyboard and webcam before handover.
Will not charge, charges intermittently, or only at one angle. Board-level soldering on desktop and laptop.
Cracked hinge, lid that will not stay open, or a case separating from the screen assembly.
Dead keys, double-typing, liquid spill damage, or a connector that has worked loose.
Loud fans, shutdowns under load, hot chassis. Often a cooling-pad and dust clean rather than a new fan.
Spill repair at board level. Bring it in even if it appears dead — corrosion continues after the liquid dries.
Full teardown to reach the component. Priced before we start, not after.
Operating system, applications, Outlook and email configuration.
Moving everything to a new machine: files, email, settings, and the software you actually use.
Repair or advice
Clicking, slow file access, disappearing drives and health alerts all mean the same thing: stop writing to that drive. Every file you copy, every scan you run, is a chance to overwrite what is still recoverable. This is the one situation where we would rather see you tomorrow than next week.
No power, a blank screen, and a Windows or macOS startup failure are three different problems with three different price ranges. The first two are hardware. The third is usually software and often costs a fraction as much. Powering off and unplugging is the right instinct in all three cases.
Intermittent Windows crashes usually trace to memory, storage, heat or drivers rather than the operating system itself. Blue screens carry a stop code — that code is genuinely useful to us, so photograph it if it appears.
The honest answer depends on three numbers: what the repair costs, what a comparable machine costs new, and how long the current one should last. Sometimes an SSD or RAM upgrade genuinely extends a machine's life by years. Sometimes it is a delaying tactic on a board that is already failing. We will show you the math.
An initial in-shop evaluation of the problem you reported. Extensive testing, disassembly, data recovery evaluation or on-site service may require a paid diagnostic — with your approval first. We explain charges before proceeding with repair work.
